It took a bit longer than expected but build .0024 for MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries Free Release is ready for public consumption. This release brings with it many bug fixes, updates, new radar modes, HUD updates, wide screen fixes, new maps, and even a new Mech: the Battle Cobra. The comprehensive list of updates is provided as usual via MTX release notes.
To obtain this update you have your choice of using the MTX Client which should patch your installation from .0023 to .0024 without issue. The update is now available via MekTek’s MTX service. You can also download the MTX patch and manually install using the MTX Extractor. Finally, if you prefer, you can use the WinPatch. MechWarriors can find all of the appropriate URLs for this update via MekTek’s patch page. This is the first patch where we have finally started migrating MekPak4 features and content to the Free Release. And we know you are asking what we have planned next? Well, MekTek can’t reveal all the surprises, but we can say for certain that more MP4 features will be migrated, more content will be added, and yes, we are even planning to improve the graphics.
