A Living Universe
The BattleTech universe is a living, vibrant entity that grows each year as more games, sourcebooks, and fiction are published. Its setting and characters evolve over time within a highly detailed framework, bringing everything to life in a way a static game universe never could. To help players navigate that depth, the universe is organized into distinct eras — from before the founding of the Star League through the Succession Wars, the Clan Invasion, and into the present ilClan era — so any game, sourcebook, or novel can be plugged into the same shared timeline.
Refit & Redeployment
For the first time in decades, a new BattleTech Starter Box, Core Box, and Core Rulebook were developed simultaneously for a joint release in August 2026 — debuting at the GenCon Game Fair. In preparation, Catalyst ran the largest public playtest in BattleTech's history.
