Civil War

The fall out of the Clan Invasion brought the Inner Sphere’s simmering internal tensions to a boil, most dramatically in the FedCom Civil War that tore the mighty Federated Commonwealth apart. It’s also the era of the Second Star League, the dramatic annihilation of Clan Smoke Jaguar and the Great Refusal. This era is a time of intrigue, shifting loyalties, and brutal internal conflict, where advanced technology meets the drama of houses divided.

The Civil War era (roughly 3060–3067) is defined by the great internal struggles that followed the Clan Invasion’s pause — above all the FedCom Civil War, which pitted Katherine Steiner-Davion against her brother Victor and split the Inner Sphere’s largest superpower into warring camps. It was also the era of the reborn Second Star League and the campaign that destroyed Clan Smoke Jaguar, and of steadily advancing technology as the Inner Sphere fully absorbed the lessons of the Clans. For players, this era offers rich, character-driven conflict: cutting-edge 3060s technology, complex political intrigue, and the drama of loyalists and rebels, siblings and rivals, fighting across a divided realm. It’s a superb setting for campaigns built on story, choice, and hard-fought battles between well-matched foes. To play in the Civil War era is to fight in wars where the enemy might be your own countrymen — and the technology is among the finest the Inner Sphere ever fielded.

Why play here

Because it’s intrigue and civil conflict at their most dramatic — advanced technology, divided loyalties, and the epic FedCom Civil War. For players who love character-driven campaigns, political drama, and evenly matched high-tech battles, this era is rich territory.
