Born of the union of the Federated Suns and the Lyran Commonwealth, the Federated Commonwealth was for a time the single largest and most powerful realm in the Inner Sphere. It fused Davion technology and doctrine with Steiner wealth and industry into an unprecedented superstate.
The Federated Commonwealth was the crowning achievement of First Prince Hanse Davion and Archon Melissa Steiner, whose marriage and alliance joined two Great Houses into one colossal nation spanning nearly half the Inner Sphere. At its height it combined the best of both realms: the AFFS’s combined-arms brilliance and the New Avalon Institute of Science’s technological leadership alongside the Lyran Commonwealth’s staggering economy and heavy-‘Mech industry. That union powered the late-3020s technological renaissance and made the Federated Commonwealth the preeminent military and economic force of its day — a bulwark that would prove decisive against the Clan Invasion. Its armies drew on the finest formations of both parent states, and its shared industrial base fielded an extraordinary breadth of designs. Though the realm ultimately divided in the FedCom Civil War, the Federated Commonwealth remains a high-water mark of Inner Sphere power and cooperation — and a favorite era for players who want the combined strength of two Great Houses in a single force.
Why command the Federated Commonwealth
Because it is, quite simply, the biggest and best-equipped realm of its age. You field Davion combined arms and Steiner assault power together, back it with the best technology the Inner Sphere can produce, and take the table as the superstate everyone else fears. For players who love top-tier rosters and the drama of a golden age, nothing else compares.
