Proud even in ruin, the Jade Falcon Remnant is what survived when Malvina Hazen led the bulk of the Clan to Terra and left the Occupation Zone behind. Under Khan Jiyi Chistu, a stubborn few in the Hinterlands refuse to let the Falcon die — and fight like it.
When Chinggis Khan Malvina Hazen stripped nearly the entire Jade Falcon touman for the Battle of Terra in 3151, all she left behind were a handful of barely operational solahma units and a Clan adrift. Star Captain Jiyi Chistu — once one of Malvina’s own, until he soured on her butchery — had been reassigned to guard the VaultShip Gamma. When the Falcon merchant caste’s new Alyina Mercantile League recalled the VaultShips, Gamma’s crew refused; a council of warriors and lower castes alike named Chistu their Khan instead. He took Sudeten as his capital and set about the impossible: rebuilding a Clan from almost nothing. What he commands is, by his own people’s description, “a rather motley assortment of Clan Warriors, robbed from the cradle or rescued from the nursing home” — a force that began as a single Trinary and clawed its way up to a full Cluster through Trials, salvage, and sheer stubbornness. Chistu has bloodied Clan Ghost Bear in a Trial of Possession, weathered a Clan Hell’s Horses invasion at the ruinous Battle of Sudeten, stalemated the Tamar Pact at Blair Atholl, and gathered scattered Falcon guerrillas back under the raptor. Ringed by the Alyina Mercantile League, the Lyran Commonwealth, Hell’s Horses, and a Malthus Confederation that has put a price on his head, he styles himself the true Jade Falcon Khan — unaware that other Falcons yet live on Terra in service to the ilClan. To field the Jade Falcon Remnant is to command the underdog’s underdog: outnumbered, outgunned, and utterly convinced they are the last real Falcons in the galaxy.
Why command the Jade Falcon Remnant
Because it’s the ultimate underdog Clan — elite Falcon pedigree stripped down to a hard core of survivors with everything to prove and nothing left to lose. Under Khan Jiyi Chistu you field a scrappy, salvage-built touman — battle-worn OmniMechs, solahma veterans, cradle-and-nursing-home recruits, and even hired-on Lone Wolves — punching far above its weight against Clan Hell’s Horses, the Tamar Pact, and the merchant upstarts of the Alyina Mercantile League. For players who want a last-stand identity, genuine underdog grit, and the drama of a fallen power clawing its way back under the raptor, the Remnant is a standout command.
